The Other Brontë Girl.
This course will concentrate on the often neglected Brontë sister Anne. Her two novels The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey provide fascinating accounts of the lives of women facing the challenges of a patriarchal and class driven society. Whilst ostensibly unassuming, Anne’s heroines warrant the critical exploration given to their literary sisters Jane and Cathy.
