Film Music in the Modern Era

An exploration of movie scoring from the 1970s to the present day.

Following on from Ben’s Film Music course last year, this day course will look at the art of writing music for movies and TV, including examples of music by John Barry (James Bond, Born Free, Out of Africa), Henry Mancini (The Pink Panther), Ennio Morricone (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) and Hans Zimmer (Interstellar, The Lion King, Gladiator).

Using the latest music technology, Ben will deconstruct a film score live on screen, showing the parts that are combined to create the magic of the silver screen.
