Ben Trubody
I obtained my first degree in Philosophy, Theology and Sociology, then completing a Masters in the Philosophy and Sociology of Culture at Exeter University. After training to be an RE teacher and several years in the wilderness of professional sales and consultancy work I returned to HE, completing my Ph.D. in early 2014. My thesis ‘‘Sloppy Thinking’: To What Extent Can Philosophy Contribute to the Public Understanding of Science?’ addresses the relationships between science, philosophy and how these are understood professionally and by the public. This has fed into my work on the philosophy of expertise as well as the philosophy of science.
Currently I work as a part-time lecturer at the University of Glos and as a course writer/developer/lecturer for the WEA.
