This dayschool will focus on the two volumes that cemented Philip Larkin’s reputation as a poet whose work would continue to be read for years to come. Starting with the title poem from The Whitsun Weddings, we shall discuss how his seemingly parochial vision may have a more universal appeal. Both volumes are included in Collected Poems (Faber & Faber, 2003).
